Naval Science Instructors Biographies

Captain Dennis T. Beaver

is a native of Clark, New Jersey.  He graduated from Arthur L. Johnson Regional High School in June 1967, Trenton State College, Ewing, New Jersey in May 1971 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health and Physical Education, the National Defense University, June 1994, with a Master of Science Degree in National Resource Strategy, and the University of New Orleans, May 2000, with a Master of Education Degree in Exercise Physiology.  Captain Beaver is certified to teach, Health, Physical Education, Social Studies, Naval Science and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). 

Captain Beaver is a retired Naval Officer having completed over 28 years on active duty.  During his Navy career, he was the Officer in Charge of an F-14 Squadron (VF-302), Executive Officer (COO) of  Naval Air Station New Orleans, Site Commander (CEO) for the first Joint Reserve Base, JRB Fort Worth, and Commander (CEO), Navy Reserve Recruiting Command. 

Captain Beaver resides in the Algiers section of New Orleans with his wife, Karla Buras.  He is a seventh year teacher at St Amant High School.


Master Sergeant Phillip G. Daily III

is a native of New Orleans, La.  Upon graduation from East Jefferson High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, July 1977.

Upon completion of training at 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, San Diego, Ca., he was meritoriously promoted to Private First Class.  Training assignments include the 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, California under training as a radio operator; Schools Battalion, Camp Pendleton where he attended the A
Administrative/Personnel Clerks course.

Upon graduating from the Administrative/Personnel Clerks course, PFC Daily received his first assignment to Iwakuni, Japan.  During his career he has served with various units throughout the Marine Crops.  Some of his assignments were: Admin Clerk, Marine Air Control Group 38; Admin Chief, Commander in Chief, U.S. Pacific Command; Admin Clerk, 12th Marine Regiment (Artillery); Instructor, Schools Battalion, Camp Pendleton; personnel Chief/Senior Enlisted Advisor, 4th Marine Division and culminating his 23 year career as the Inspector Chief for the Commanding General, Marine Forces Reserve, New Orleans, LA.  MSGT Daily is a seventh year teacher at St Amant High School.
